How do I purchase tickets?

Tickets to all Vail Jazz performances may be purchased online, by phone, or in person at the event venue (space permitting).

Online: click here for all available tickets and passes for purchase.

By phone: Call Vail Jazz at 970.479.6146 (local) or 888.VAIL.JAM (toll free).

How do I pick up my tickets?

Vail Jazz does not issue any printed tickets. We have a completely digital ticketing system, cutting down on paper waste and giving guests one less thing to remember!

If you have purchased tickets to a Vail Jazz performance, check in at Will Call (open one hour prior to performance start time, located at the performance venue).

Can I purchase tickets or passes at the door?

Yes, but with limited seating for each performance, shows might sell out. Ticket prices increase one hour prior to every performance, as a “door price,” and are available for sale at the box office. The box office is open one hour before show time at the event venue. Accepted forms of payment are: cash, MC, VISA, AMEX or Discover.

What is the difference between passes and tickets?

Passes include entry to every event in a series, whereas tickets only include entry to a single event.

The Performance Pass includes early entry to all eleven sessions over the Vail Jazz Party, Thursday – Monday.

The Patron Pass includes early entry to all eleven sessions over the Vail Jazz Party, Thursday – Monday, entry to the Opening Night Reception on Thursday, and exclusive dinner with Vail Jazz artists on Saturday.

What is a subscription?

A subscription may be purchased for the Vail Jazz @ Vail Square series. Each subscription contains premium tickets to four performances of your choice from the Vail Jazz @ Vail Square series. Subscriptions may only be used for one ticket per performance.

At $125 per subscription, you will save $35!

What is the difference between the seating levels at Vail Square?

Vail Jazz @ Vail Square has three distinct seating levels: General Admission, Preferred and Premium.

General Admission seating is towards the back of the tent, and does not offer assigned seating. Seating is first come, first seated. Tickets are $25.

Preferred seating is assigned, in the section towards the front of the tent. Tickets are $40. You may buy a subscription of preferred seats for four shows, with savings of over 15%, for $135.

Premium seating is assigned, in the front of the tent, with plush banquet seats. Tickets are $55. You may buy a subscription of premium seats to four shows, with savings of over 25%, for $195.

Will Call and the Box Office will be at the event venue. Both open one hour prior to the performance start time.

At Will Call you can pick up already purchased tickets and passes.

At the Box Office you can buy tickets or passes to Vail Jazz events. Please note that ticket prices increase one hour prior to performances, and day-of tickets are only available if space permits.

Are there assigned or reserved seats?

No. Our performances are “first come, first seated,” with the following exceptions:

At the Vail Jazz Party, pass holders are permitted early entry to the venue.

At Jazz @ Vail Square performances, pass holders and VIP ticket holders get preferred seating.

When should I arrive?

All of our events are first come first seated (there are no reserved seats). You can collect your ticket as soon as Will Call opens, but each event series opens the doors at different times:

Vail Jazz @ Vail Square: Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance, at 5:30pm. Performance begins at 6:00pm.

Vail Jazz Club Series: First Seating: doors open at 6:00pm, performance begins at 6:30pm. Second Seating: doors open at 8:30pm, performance begins at 9:00pm.

Vail Jazz Party: Pass holders may enter the venue 30 minutes prior to each session. Ticket holders may enter the venue 15 minutes prior to each session.

Where will the event take place?

Please view the venues page, which gives detailed information about all Vail Jazz venues.

Where do I park?

Please see the event venues page for detailed information on parking at each venue.

It’s raining, is the show canceled?

Vail Jazz performances go on rain or shine. Inclement weather is not cause for refund.

Vail offers ideal weather in the summer, however be prepared for the occasional rain shower. Showers usually only last a few minutes, so give it a minute, and you’re bound to see the Colorado sun return!

Can I get a refund for my ticket or pass?

All Vail Jazz tickets and passes are non-refundable.

Where can I find information about the performances and artists?

Detailed information about all Vail Jazz performances, artists, and venues, can be found on our site, or in our printed Vail Jazz Festival Program.

The digital Festival Program will be available online in June 2016.

What should I wear?

For our outdoor events (those held at Vail Square), we recommend bringing layers and checking the weather before you head out – the summer season in Vail is beautiful but is also known for passing showers, so come prepared!

There is no set dress for Vail Jazz events, so we recommend wearing what makes you feel comfortable. You will see a wide range at all of our events from formal to blue jeans – it’s what we call Rocky Mountain attire.

Can I save seats?

No, we ask that ticket and pass holders respect our “no saved seating” policy. Please refrain from saving more than one seat for a friend or companion.

If we find that you have saved more than 2-3 seats, we will ask you to move your belongings and free the seats for other guests.

Can I bring food and/or drinks into the venue?

The following venues allow food and drinks:

    • Jazz Tent at Vail Square (Vail Jazz @ Vail Square and Vail Jazz Party)
    • Jazz Tent at Vail Farmers’ Market (Vail Jazz @ The Market)

Outside food and drink are not permitted at the Vail Marriott, The Remedy or Express Lift Coffeehouse (Vail Jazz Club Series).

Can I take pictures or video?

You can take pictures, although there is no flash photography permitted at any Vail Jazz performance. Due to contractual obligations, the recording of any performance (audio or video) is strictly prohibited.

How do I get early entry to performances?

At the Vail Jazz Party, pass holders (both the Performance Pass and the Patron Pass) receive early entry to all performances. Passholders are allowed entry 30 minutes prior to show time; ticket holders are permitted entry 15 minutes prior to show time.

Are Vail Jazz Party passes transferable?

ABSOLUTELY! There are two weekend passes, the Patron Pass and the Performance Pass. They are both transferable so you can share yours with a friend if you aren’t able to attend each session. If you are a hardcore fan, buy either pass and enjoy all the music. You can still have your spouse/significant other/friends join you at selected sessions by buying individual session tickets.

Can I buy a ticket to the Patron Dinner with the artists?

No, the Patron Dinner (Saturday night) is only available to those who have purchased Patron Passes.

If you have purchased a Performance Pass and want to attend the dinner, you can upgrade your pass (to do this please call 970.479.6146 or go to the Box Office at any Vail Jazz event).

Ticket holders cannot purchase entrance into the dinner.

Please note that we will NOT be able to sell upgrades on the night of the dinner.

How can I get involved with Vail Jazz?

Is the event handicap accessible?

Yes, all of our events are held in handicap accessible venues. If you’d like assistance, notify a member of staff and we will be more than happy to help!

How do I buy tickets to an event that is "by invitation only"?

The Vail Jazz Winter Series includes soirées, which are intimate events held at private residences. The invitation list for these events is closed, and we unfortunately cannot sell individual tickets.
