The Jeff Clayton Scholarship Fund for the Vail Jazz Workshop
The great Art Farmer said it so well, “Musicians are not gone, but live on in the next generation of musicians” and the legacy of Jeff Clayton’s many years of service at the Workshop is exactly that.
With his knowledge and wisdom, with his encouragement and support, Jeff inspired a great number of the Vail Jazz Workshop alumni to follow their passion for the music. Among his students are the stars of the current Jazz scene.
In honor of Jeffery Leland Clayton (1955-2020), one of the founding faculty members of the Vail Jazz Workshop, an annual scholarship fund has been established in his memory.
The Fund will provide financial assistance to all students attending the Workshop in the future. At a minimum, a scholarship in an amount equal to one-half of the cost of the Workshop will be provided to EVERY student, and for students having a greater financial need, additional funding will be provided.
Contributions to the Jeff Clayton Scholarship Fund are tax-deductible within IRS Guidelines.
