VAIL JAZZ FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES SUMMER LINE UP AND
TICKETS NOW ON SALE FOR
THE 13TH ANNUAL VAIL JAZZ FESTIVAL
 
MAY 15, 2007 – Vail, CO – The Vail Jazz Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization located in Vail, Colorado, announces ticket sales have begun for the 13th Annual Vail Jazz Festival’s Labor Day Weekend Party.  The event takes place August 31 - September 3, 2007 at the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa. 

The ten-week long festival culminates with The 13th Annual Vail Jazz Festival’s Labor Day Weekend Party, held Friday, August 31 – Monday, September 3, 2007.  This internationally acclaimed event features the world’s greatest jazz musicians performing over 24 hours of music over the Labor Day Weekend.  Hosted at the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa, the Labor Day Weekend Party brings together the best jazz musicians in the intimate, setting of the Cascade’s Centennial Ballroom for a blend of jazz music not found anywhere else.  This year’s line-up features

"This year's Festival will once again feature several of the rising stars of jazz,” says Robin Litt Executive Director of the Vail Jazz Foundation, “Taylor Eigsti, the 22 year old two-time Grammy nominated pianist who has been performing since he was 8 years old, and Brandon Lee, former Vail Jazz Workshop trumpeter, who has just graduated from Juilliard and released his first CD as a leader will join veteran jazz performers including John Clayton, Steve Nelson, Herlin Riley and Matt Wilson." 

NEW THIS YEAR! HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENT!  Back by popular demand, The Tony Gulizia Trio will perform on the Cascade’s deck during breakfast on Saturday from 10:00 – 1pm.  Jazz Festival attendees receive 10% off their breakfast with their Jazz ticket.  The Mile High Chapter Choir returns to present the Gospel Prayer Meetin’ featuring vocalist Niki Haris on Sunday morning at 10am.  On Sunday night, don’t miss Bill Cunliffe’s Multi-Media Salute to Thelonius Monk.

TICKET PRICES for the Labor Day Weekend Party offer something for everyone.  The Patrons Pass at $325 allows access to all 7 performances and the exclusive Patrons Dinner with Artists on Saturday, Sept. 1st.  Individual tickets are available for all performances, starting with the youth afternoon tickets for just $10; adult morning and afternoon tickets for $45 and evening tickets for $55. 

JAZZ @ THE MARKET  In addition, the Vail Jazz Foundation announces its lineup for the Jazz @ the Market free concert series at the Vail Farmers Market, every Sunday June 24 – August 19th.  Performances are from Noon to 3:30pm and offer a comfortable setting to take in some FREE music, headlined by local and regional artists at the fastest growing farmers market in Western Colorado!
