Vail Jazz Festival Performances
The Vail Jazz Foundation's Summer of Jazz consists of several key performance series.
The Vail Jazz Festival is a summer-long celebration of America's musical gift to the world - Jazz. The Vail Jazz Foundation has created a different kind of festival experience - inspiring, engaging and easy going. The Summer of Jazz in Vail offers internationally acclaimed jazz ensembles and soloists as well as local and regional favorites. Audiences will enjoy The Clayton Brothers Quintet and Ann Hampton Callaway. Solo performers include saxophonist Joel Frahm, trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, pianists Benny Green, and B-3 player Tony Monaco.

Local favorites Tony Gulizia, Kathy Morrow Trio, Max Wagner
Quartet, and the Mile High Chapel Choir will complete the
summer of jazz in Vail at our Jazz @ the Market series,
playing Sundays Noon - 3:30pm from June 28 through August 30, 2009.
Jazz @ Vail Square, Arrabelle Hotel in Lionshead
Jazz @ Vail Square will return to its home at the Arrabelle at Vail Square, filling the heart of the Lionshead with cool jazz sounds on Thursday evenings from August 6th through September 3rd, 2009. An intimate tented venue at the Arrabelle in Lionshead.
Vail Jazz Party at Vail Marriott Mountain Resort 15th Annual Labor Day Weekend Jazz Party
The Summer of jazz culminates with the traditional ‘Labor Day Weekend Party’ – a five day celebration of jazz music at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort --which attracts some of the greatest Jazz talent of the 21st century.

The Festival culminates in a unique mix of world-class musicians
in a one-of-a-kind format that has lived up to its title,
the Labor Day Weekend Party. Whether it's group performances,
multi-artists jam sessions or the inspiring Gospel Prayer
Meetin', the Weekend has a unique party spirit that attracts
jazz musicians and jazz lovers from all over the world. Each
year, up-and-coming "young lions" play alongside
the living legends of jazz in an intimate venue, surrounded
by the natural beauty of Vail. With over twenty-four hours
of performances throughout the weekend (morning, noon and
night), the audience and musicians are connected in a manner
that consistently inspires great performances.
